Day 1:
Pick up from accommodation venues or agreed meeting point in Townsville. Explore some of the local areas in Townsville, including Castle Hill and The Strand.
Then travel north on the Bruce Highway and start the climb up the Paluma Range to Crystal Creek for a guided walk and swim. The bus then proceeds to McClelland’s Lookout for a walk through the rainforest followed by lunch at a rainforest café in Paluma.
There we travel to Birthday Creek Falls, Lake Paluma and on to Hidden Valley Cabins. Our guests then enjoy free time to settle in relax and enjoy the natural surroundings and wildlife, such as resident wallabies and birds. An informal ‘meet and greet’ dinner is followed by a night walk spotlighting for nocturnal mammals and bird life completes the night’s activities. (L,D) |

Day 2:
Enjoy a sleep-in followed by breakfast in the peaceful surroundings and a relaxing morning exploring the grounds and enjoying the ever-present wildlife.
After a bite to eat we board the bus for an afternoons adventure in nearby Running River Gorge. We visit Hidden Valley station, the German “Survivor” campground, a TV series filmed in Hidden Valley. The hut used still stands today. We explore this rugged and spectacular Gorge during an afternoon of swimming, fishing, sun-bathing, bush-walking and relaxing until sunset.
On dusk we take our guests to observe one of Hidden Valley’s most precious residents, the platypus, which lives in quiet pools close to Hidden Valley Cabins. We then return to HVC for a country BBQ dinner and a traditional bush damper. (B,L,D)

Day 3:
After breakfast we travel across the top of the ‘Coastal Range’ to Mt Fox and visit the dormant volcano crater, then travel down the range, stopping at lookouts to view Hinchinbrook Island and the cane fields of Ingham.
The tour then proceeds to Wallaman Falls, the highest sheer drop waterfall in Australia. After walking and exploring we then stop for a picnic lunch. After lunch, the tour continues on to Ingham to visit their famous landmarks, ‘The Pub With No Beer’ and the ‘Tyto Wetlands’.
An expedition, depending on the season, to spot saltwater crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks of the Herbert River. From there we start the drive back to Townsville stopping at the famous and delicious Ice cream store, Frosty Mango. Arrive in Townsville early evening. (B,L)
